At AJD Design Group, we’re proud to recognize a meaningful milestone for our founder, Albert Donadio, who was honoured with a 2025 Young Guns and Legends Award from Pro Builder, the official publication of the National Association of Home Builders, celebrating industry leaders across North America who have made a lasting impact on residential design and construction.
At 73 years young, Albert’s journey in the residential design and build world reflects both deep experience and a forward-thinking mindset. Winning the “Legend” award was “a nice surprise,” Albert said, underscoring his humility and commitment to the craft.

A New Chapter, Same Commitment to Design
2026 will mark an important transition. Albert will be stepping back from day-to-day construction and selling Alair Homes Orillia, allowing the company to continue under new ownership.
He will remain fully active as the owner of AJD Design Group, where his work will become increasingly mobile and flexible. With a home in Florida, Albert plans to spend more time there while continuing to lead design projects, collaborate closely with clients, and provide the same level of expertise AJD Design Group is known for.
This next chapter represents a shift in focus, not a step away from the industry, allowing Albert to concentrate on what he does best: design leadership, strategic thinking, and guiding projects from concept through completion.
